Pointers: A pointer is a variable which stores the address of another variable which can be used to access data without referring to the data identifier directly.
Pointers are identifiers for addresses for addresses whereas data variable are identifiers for the data.
Pointer variable: A pointer variable s a variable that holds the address of another variable
Program:

Output:

Explanation:
- In this program initially a variable of data type integer is declared i.e. n with its content as 0.
- Later the content of the variable n Is displayed i.e. 0
- The address of the variable n is referred by using “&” which is used to point to the variable
- So &n is used to refer to the address where the variable n in allocated memory
- The address of the variable n is displayed i.e. 1192654056.
Program:

Output:

Explanation:
- This program is similar to initial except that an extra variable p is created
- p is declared to store the address of n and of data type unsigned int because the address of the integer variable n can’t be stored in variable of lesser size.
- Later the content of p is displayed which is same as &n(the address of n)
- * is used to refer to the content in the memory location
- *(&n) refer to the content of address of variable n which is same as n
Call by pointer
